the summer list

From Whatever ,one of my fav blogs ever!
What a great idea!!! Thinking about taking it a step further... seasonally... the fall list, the winter list, the spring list. Sounds like a neat thing to do with the kiddos each season. I see more family meetings in our near future.

Do you have favorite places you love to peruse as inspirational eye-candy? You know that "wish I were that talented" kinda places you like to go hang out when you're having one of THOSE days/moments.

For the moment, I've been drawing on them to refine what I wanna do in my home space. Appropriately, I've named each "Inspiration Board" file the name of a room in our home and I've C&P'd (pleez don't hate me) absolutely stunning images from my fav blogs that inspire me. Did mine in MS Word, but I'm sure others are already onto this in one form or another. Here's an example of my style inspiration board:

I'm kinda catching up from behind the times here. Gotta stay tech-savvy enough to keep up with my "tween going on twenty-something" DD. So while I'm busy out on our fair/festival parade this summer/fall, I can keep busy planning and adding to my To-Do's for when I'm back home.

well really it's beyond sad. I started this blog and then my laptop died. Does that sound like "the dog ate my homework"?

When I say died, I don't mean it was one of those recoverable deaths. You know the kind in which you can still manage to salvage those tons of family pics, including the first and maybe only family Disney vacation(s). I mean dead as a doornail type deaths. No amount of PC knowledge could save kind of deaths. Yeah, I'm married to an amazing techno-geek and he tapped all his extended data banks and references/friends/acquintances "in the know" to try to ressurect my poor laptop memory banks with no luck. Yes, the other side of the coin is just like the cobbler's daughter. We almost never have our PC's backed up in a timely fashion (maybe 1x/yr if we're lucky). Guess it's time I figured out how to do that myself!

My memory is bad too. I mean my own personal memory. That's not saying much for my 30-something brain now is it? Couldn't for the life of me, remember what I called my blog. Yes, it really is or rather was that sad! However on a fluke this a.m. I was posting a comment on an OL friend's blog and what do you know... Blogger recognized me. How cool is that!!!? Well it was waaaaaaaaaaay COOL to me!!! (Yes I know, send the English Teacher's after me for grammar, spelling and punctuation abuse.)

I'm so stinkin' happy I could dance a jig! But I won't 'cause I'd probably embarrass my sweet (when they wanna be) children in front of their friends. It's a little too early in the summer vacation to start that. But trust me, that parenting tactic will most likely be used before the month's (or week's) out. So I'm back and boy do I have some catching up to do. Wait that doesn't sound so good does it? That thought'll have me @ overwhelmed in a nanosecond, then that'll lead to procrastination. OK, I'm gonna pull out a FL-ism (www.flylady.net) 'cause it really does help my mom brain cope from time to time. "You're never behind, no need to catch up, just jump in where you are. " Those may not be her exact words, but they'll do the job in a pinch. And yes, it if that link doesn't work at least most can read it and figure it out. Right, in that sense I'm a couple years behind and will work on catching up on the technical details of links and blogging as soon as I can muster. But for now, I'm so happy to have found myself again, YIPEE!!!
