- add faux beadboard wallpaper to some cabinetry
- repair & paint walls (ie: Behr Ripe Wheat or MSL Shortbread)
- prime & paint cabinets (uppers think MSL Bedford Gray, lowers think MSL Feather Duster or Seal, island think along the lines of MSL Saguaro or Pumpkin Seed)
- install countertop edge tiles
- install trim on back window to match side window
- install crown molding
- prime & paint trim
- install cabinet hardware
- install new flooring

- purchase and have new front door and storm installed (swap rh for lh opening to improve traffic flow and accessibility for moving furniture in and out of the house)
- paint doors & trim
- hang key box/rack left of door above light switches
- prime and paint ceiling
- install grass cloth wallpaper
- install beaded board/ board and batten wall treatment in a stepped design to mimic the stairs
- paint and install chair rail & crown moulding
- find frames and print blk&wht photos of kids to fill the stepped wall treatment space
- remove spindles and install brackets to simplify stair wall
- assemble collection of mirrors on opposite side of stairs
- install light fixtures (entry & top of stairs)

Redoing a redo... Inspiration
Well our plan was to convert a portion of our covered front porch into a new mudroom space this fall. However, the economy being what it is affected our seasonal biz and not in a favorable way. That plan has been scratched. The new plan involves a bit of finessing of our dining room to allow for a corner to be used as an extended mudroom next to our small entryway.
While much of these inspiration pics won't fit in the current space confines. I'm still very inspired by these pieces & mudrooms.

Our new mudroom/extended entry solution is a temporary fix to help sell the house and keep us functional until that happens. Many factors have led to this decision: local school issues, house size, lot size, functionality of house to suit our needs, etc.
Also iIn the spirit of using/needing inspiration here are some porch finds I'm loving... I'll eventually (probably next spring) have to give ours a decent spiffing up.

Lil J's Nursery
Realized I forgot to come back and post pics of Lil J's nursery. Boy, time sure flies by. So here's to some catching up on my part.

Remember, this space started off as a tiny walk-in closet.
Here's where the inspiration took us:
Artwork painted by a relative. Love frame from Wal-mart.
"You make me smile" ceramic plaque from Target Valentine's.
Frame on dresser Target clearance.
Mushroom night light is another Target find.
Rose topiary previously loved from thrift store.
Dresser also a previously loved thrift store find.
We added some paint to shabby chic-ify it and
pull out the vintage hardware details.
Here's a peek at the queen size blanket
turned room size area rug.
The banner is a Simply Shabby Chic find at Target,
also picked up on clearance.
The edge of the table to the left is mom's
nightstand which is no longer in the space.

A bit more detail of the crib bedding. Quilted coverlet
hanging on the back of crib, is my old coverlet as a child made by a relative.

at Target.

- I'm a 30-something, mostly SAHM of 4 (2 DD's and 2 DS's) and DSM to 1 (DSD). I've had a deeply ingrained love & respect for mother nature and most things natural ever since I can remember.
